I built the form in place, screwing 2″ foam to melamine. I shimmed the original counter to the right desired thickness (minus 1″) then screwed down foam to make the mold an inch out fm the old one. 30 minutes of cutting foam, tops. I jammed the optics into foam and carefully poured it.
