Optical node – BETA PRO 60G

www.vector.com.pl BETA PRO 60G is an optical node designed to meet the requirements of modern HFC networks. Adjustment of the optical node has been simplified due to its microprocessor control unit that enables uninterruptible adjustment (eg AGC, slope, gain), what is extremely important especially for modern services eg VoIP, VoD. This solution allows to reduce costs of network maintenance, eliminate the necessity of plug-in modules stock and simplify installation and adjustment of the device. BETA PRO 60G may be equipped with transponder module, which enables remote monitoring and control of particular node parameters. It enables to monitoring and manage three-state ingress switch, reverse transmitter redundancy or segmentation, receiver redundancy, configuration of AGC settings, slope and level adjustment. Additionally it’s possible to monitor input/output optical power of the receiver/transmitter, supervise AC and DC voltages, control external contacts and inside temperature, tamper. The AGC circuit compensates changes in the optical power providing stable RF output level regardless of input signal fluctuations. Modern forward path receiver of BETA PRO 60G, allows to work with low optical input power is modern FTTC/FTTB architecture. To provide redundancy additional receiver may be mounted in. The node may be powered locally up to 15A or remotely with 12A current passing by each RF port. BETA PRO 60G may be equipped with two return path transmitters, which allow to

FTTH Construction 91709

This video shows how our crews are installing fiber optic. The orange plastic conduit will house the fiber optics. This conduit is first placed underground and then the fiber optic will be added. A tunnel is made underground and a band of conduit is then pulled through. Here you will see them adding the conduit, seeing it pulled through the tunnel and seeing it come out the other side.

FOA Lecture 17: OTDR Testing

This is Lecture 17 in the FOA series on fiber optics. This lecture is on OTDRS – optical time domain reflectometers. OTDRs are very powerful test tools for fiber optics but are complex and require more analysis of the test information than most instruments. This lecture, the first of 3 on OTDRs, covers the basics of how OTDRs work.

This is my latest model the Queen Elizabeth 1:600th scale, fully lit with LED’s and fibre optics complete with scracth built lido deck and pool etc. added on the refit after 1966. Thanks for Chuck for the fibre optics, Janet in China for the flashing LED and John in England for the pictures of the QE after the refit.

What Is Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG) ?

www.fiberoptics4sale.com A fiber Bragg grating (FBG) is a type of distributed Bragg reflector constructed in a short segment of optical fiber that reflects particular wavelengths of light and transmits all others. This is achieved by adding a periodic variation to the refractive index of the fiber core, which generates a wavelength specific dielectric mirror. A fiber Bragg grating can therefore be used as an inline optical filter to block certain wavelengths, or as a wavelength-specific reflector. Simply put, a fiber Bragg grating is a distributed Bragg reflector. This is what a simple FBG looks like. Normal fibers have uniform refractive index along the length. But in a FBG, the refractive index of the core changes periodically along a short length. As shown in this picture, the period is Λ (Lambda). So what kind of effect will this have on the fiber’s light guiding properties? Let’s look at the next slide. As shown here, when a light with many wavelengths is launched into a FBG, one particular wavelength is in phase with the grating period, and this wavelength is reflected back to the input end. All other wavelengths pass through to the other end since they are not in phase with the grating period. This makes the FBG reflect a particular wavelength and transmit all others. On this slide, it shows the spectrum response of a FBG. The first graph is the input spectrum, the center graph is the transmitted spectrum, and the third graph is the reflected spectrum. Here is the

thunderboltdevices.co – Thunderbolt in computing terms is the collaboration between, Apple, Intel, LaCie and Pegasus to provide the fastest computer interconnect currently available. Apple launched the new line of MacBook Pro’s in Feb 2011 where the Mini DisplayPort icon had become a Thunderbolt flash. Under the hood this change allows a two-way transport speed of 20 Gbps together with daisy chaining devices. The timeline of development stretches back to the 1970′s with some technologies like fiber optics (fibre optics – UK spelling) originating in the 1960s from the UK. Thunderbolt technology will simplify a number of issues when it comes to computers and easily outperforms USB 3.0 http Apple – Thunderbolt: Next-generation high-speed I/O technology.
